Elaine Lui at TEDxVancouver gives a poignant presentation in which she explains why celebrity gossip enables us to “understand social culture, social behavior, and humanity [and] to understand ourselves.”  Celebrity gossip is a representation of larger social issues at play and enables a discussion to occur about much larger issues.
